PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
 
 
January 1997 - January 2002: United States Marine Corps (Honorable Discharge)  
 
Lead Network Administrator (March 2001 - January 2002)
 
• Responsible for network performance including: proper operation of 30 switches, 14 servers, 175 workstations, and internet/intranet connectivity. Managed helpdesk supporting 250-300 users.  
• Performed email administration, tape backups/restores, anti-virus updates, desktop repair, software rollouts, and customer service. Trained, supervised and evaluated junior personnel.  
• Additional accomplishments: Built MS Access database for tracking work requests and trouble tickets, planned and managed network-wide upgrade from Windows NT 4.0 to Windows 2000 Professional. Participated in upgrade of network from unmanaged hubs to fully managed Cisco/Marconi switches, designed and built computer classroom/lab for client and administrator training.  
 
LAN Administrator (internship/training) (February 2001 - March 2001)
 
• Trained in various Information Technology areas including: configuration of Cisco/3Com switches and Cisco routers, authoring Windows Batch files to perform administrative functions and configuring WINS and DHCP.  
• Gained knowledge in utilizing Entevo Direct Admin3.15 for administering user accounts, and using Performance Monitors in a pro-active approach to systems support.  
 
Network/Desktop Support Administrator (June 2000 - February 2001)
 
• Provided extensive customer service to include: correction of network problems (connectivity, share/email access etc…), installation and configuration of Windows 95/98 and Windows NT/2000, and installation of network cabling. Performed desktop repair and upgrades.  
• Managed all network and email accounts, conducted hardware/software installation, performed tape backup/restore. Staffed Helpdesk supporting 250-300 users, researched and purchased new equipment and software, and trained, supervised and evaluated junior personnel.  
• Additional accomplishments include assisting in building Microsoft IIS 4.0 server for organization's website, installing and configuring Arcserve 6.0 with HP DLT Autoloader for automated data backup, authoring data backup solution.  
 
Communications Security Technician (May 1998 - May 2000)
 
• Managed classified materials and approximately 30 pieces of classified/CCI equipment with a DOD Secret clearance. Maintained scrupulous records pertaining to inventory and the maintenance process.  
• Provided extensive customer service, as well as repair and installation of various communications electronics.  
 
 
POSITION HELD WHILE ATTENDING COLLEGE
 
 
October 2002 - Present(Contract/Freelance)
 
• Summer 2003 - Present(freelance) The Charter House Inn, Bainbridge, GA
Consultant: Advised on several issues pertaining to network performance and scalability, while considering cost effectiveness. Designed and installed wireless hotspot giving wireless network access to hotel guests. Built MS Access database, complete with security and archiving features, to ease management of banquets, parties and receptions.  
 
• October 2003(contract) K-Force, Atlanta, GA
Technician: Migrated 16 workstations from traditional desktops to new Tablet PC computers. Installed machines onto network, and insured proper operation of peripherals, and email and share access.  
 
• October 2002 - November 2002(Contract) Diebold Election Systems, Atlanta, GA
County Technician: Provided customer service and technical support to Election Superintendent and all election officials. Tested, Inventoried and Maintained 34 Touch-Screen Units and 1 server for the November 2002 Election. Conducted GEMS Database backups and restores.  
 
March 2003 - July 2003(full-time) Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Tallahassee, FL
 
Sales Floor Associate: Provided extensive customer service in the tradition of organization's high reputation of customer satisfaction. Gained and/or polished skills in conflict management, customer relations, along with interpersonal and communication skills.  
 
November 2002 - April 2003(part-time) Florida's News Channel, Tallahassee, FL
 
Master Control Operator: Responsible for proper airing of scheduled programming in four regions covering the state of Florida. Maintained proper records of all segments broadcasted.
